Tips for Fast and Healthy Weight Loss
The aim of any weight loss regime or program is to drop pounds from all over your body, in the quickest time possible. That means that often, extreme dieting and exercise measures must be adhered to, in order for the program to be a success.
Many people have seen the wonderful stories of people who lost "200 pounds in 6 weeks" and so on - and therefore believe that if it was possible for someone else, it must be possible for them. Unfortunately, they fall in to the advertising trap here, only to find that those results were probably because of an extreme, monitored, expensive plan concocted up by a dietician and nutritional expert.
Don't Fall in To the Advertising Trap
Weight loss can be simple - but let's face the facts: It will be a hard road to drop the pounds and keep them off. After all, if you have gained excess weight in the first place, the chances are that you are going to have to make a change in your lifestyle if you want to head back in the healthy direction.
So - what are our tips for doing this successfully? Consider some of the following things:
- Increasing the amount of exercise you do each week.
- Decreasing the number of times you eat out (i.e. at restaurants and takeaway outlets).
- Decreasing the number of random and mindless snacks you have each day.
- Learning to enjoy the food you eat.
The first three points above are really no-brainers. By decreasing you calorie intake and increasing you calorie expenditure, the equation simply means that you are able to burn fat on a daily basis, without worrying too much about what types of foods you actually end up eating.
Enjoying the Food You Eat
One of the biggest secrets to long term weight loss is to understand the importance of food, and actually enjoy it. When we say "enjoy it" - we certainly don't mean scoffing every portion of food you can find in the cupboard.
Instead, we meant that if you were to simply take the time to taste the foods that you were eating, and in turn eat a little bit slower to allow yourself to feel full faster, you will be satisfied by smaller portions, and this will ultimately help you to decrease your overall weekly calorie count - perhaps by up to a quarter!
