Alli Review

Alli is the first non-prescription weight loss drug to receive the FDA approval. The claim of the manufacturer for the effectiveness of Alli at blocking around 25 percent of the consumed fat has been proven to be a fact. But it should certainly be remembered that there is no miracle pill and absorption of fat is only one aspect of the complete weight loss equation. To lose weight and keep it off forever, there is no escape from regular exercising and healthy eating habits.

How Does Alli Work?

While you have taken note of this, it might interest you to know that Orlistat is the primary ingredient contained in Alli that is known to accelerate your weight loss endeavors effectively. Orlistat attaches itself to the natural enzymes present in the digestive system of your body that prevents breaking down of almost 1/4th of the consumed fat, causing it to remain undigested and evades its conversion into calories. Undigested fat is then removed through the bowel movement.

Alli Results

For best results, you must stick to a low-fat and balanced diet. This doesn’t mean that you should stay completely clear of pastries, shakes, snacks, et al. It is just that you should consume only limited portions and not too frequently.

The manufacturers of Alli do claim that you can lose 8-12 pounds every month without any exercising but this is just an overexaggerated marketing gimmick. Do not be fooled by it! Sure, you can lose that much weight with Alli but without exercising it simply won’t be possible. As a fat blocker, you can expect Alli to keep off 2-5 extra pounds every month.

Thousands of people have affirmed the effectiveness of Alli in helping them trim down within a few months, however if your unruly eating habits is not the reason why you are obese, it may not work for you! Another con of this weight loss drug is that being a fat blocker, this may not be able to keep a check on your proetin or carbohydrate absorption rates.

Side Effects of Alli

Few side effects related to intestine or bowel have also been reported by users of Alli. Some rare cases also mentioned about liver damage. This makes it clear why Alli was never among my top 3 recommendations on this site.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer also does not offer any money back guarantee. So, I would recommend that you go for Alli only if you are someone who is really obese, have a BMI of over 28, and desperately needs to lose weight. Also, I would suggest that if you wish to take Alli, you discontinue taking it after 3 months to avoid any rare side effects that I mentioned here.
